Bar La Florida, also known as the “Floridita”, made the Daiquiri famous, with a little help from Papa Hemingway.
Ernest “Papa” Hemingway, would meet friends like Spencer Tracy or Gary Cooper, and order a round of his drink the “Papa Doble”.
This book was also the start of many misprints. The Daiquiri recipe calls for a Lemon Verde, translated literally means a “green lemon” which back then was a badly translated lime.
